Hitting Golf Balls: I'm not sure my body understands the concept of consistency of swing! 😖

I went and hit some golf balls to get a little practice. Didn't have time to play but hitting balls only takes a half hour. I got great at hitting the ball in different directions. Eventually I will just figure out the best way to hit the ball. For example, I moved my feet forward so that my club face was slightly raised and swung inward and seemed to be more consistent. Its not advice.

I think I will just watch some videos and see if I remember anything next time I play. Natural learning I guess. I get confused by the "science of golf". 🏌🤷

I received these used Kirkland balls yesterday for around $11 delivered. They look like they are in pretty good shape. Not bad if you use balls (like 2-4) depending on course. 😢

Why Reading Books and Articles in Addition to Natural Observation is Still Important in Higher Edu?

We often think that reading books on theory, key concepts, ideas, and history are not particularly important. That somehow we should short of skip over it for more practical stuff. While one could make the narrow or broad argument in education and its funding that doesn't neglect the needs for background information. Each serves a purpose in creating a conception of whole to understanding new problems/phenomenon.

It should be remembered that knowledge comes from many different sources. It can come from books, social networks, the news, solving problems and natural observation. While in modern human history we have formalized education it really is about awareness and solving problems. The more complex the problem, the more information and insight one needs to understand and resolve.

Sometimes those problems are practical such as how to fix a car and other times it could be more abstract such as how to create an economic innovation system. In ancient times it practical could be something like how to catch a fish with a spear or it could be more abstract such as how to design a more accurate bow and arrow (embankment, catapult, wall, etc...).

While people may scoff at formal and informal knowledge/education (Not exactly the same but similar.) gathering they eventually get connected together into a learning process. For example, a book may offer formal knowledge, history provides context, research journals offer emerging new discoveries, a magazine up-to-date "real time" knowledge (relatively real time), etc... Each has their part as the more you read and observe the more you understand (One provides broad and the other specific understandings of applicability.).

Books and formal learning allows for broader background and structure while applying such information to real live situations allows for practical application. It isn't necessary that it is always correct and will always work but its more important that it be as truthful as possible so that we can learn from things we don't always yet understand (At least in certain periods of history. Science is an additive process and then you have an "Aha" moment where all the prior research makes sense. When problems and resolutions are big they are paradigm shifts that can transform societies.)

"Normalizing" Aggressive Behaviors and Movement Toward National Change

I have seen where we have completely normalized aggressive behaviors and then act as though the people who caused the problem did nothing wrong. While mental health of the perpetrators was involved there was also a larger group of supporters. Most of these people feel little to no remorse because they have no reason to (That isn't strange considering most people don't feel any remorse until held to account or after the fact when the destructive nature is better seen. Then they are all about how "sorry" they are as it impacts their punishment. Its the same thinking that gets them into the situation they hope will get them out.)

We have something fundamentally wrong in our society if it is so easy to manipulate people to hype them into irrational hate and dangerous behaviors; probably not unique to ours but at a heightened state. We failed to maintain our critical thinking, good moral judgement, and the legal understanding to tackle such issues (Kind of why I'm looking at it.).

Sometimes these situations can impact an entire local justice system that includes a few police officers, perhaps a judge (I can't say that for sure but I suspect it did) and a sports community. If you stood back and ask "Why?" you have no real understanding what would be worth such destructiveness (Except they likely have done it at other times and got away with it. Perhaps they didn't feel anyone would hold them to account because of these social connections and perceived differences between themselves and the target(s).). You can only come to a few possible conclusions....

1.) Its easy to target Muslims, Blacks, and others (It can be anyone including White people. It just depends on why a target is selected) when there has been a lack of prior accountability and when the "perceived" power dynamics are imbalanced (Real Men/Woman stand for their values not target those they delusionally see as weaker. Think about it. Duh! ).

2.) Mental health is not well understood and supported in the local community (The belief that sports players can't have mental health issues. I suspect this is similar in many traditionally macho fields.).

3.) Cultic sports culture that socializes people to poor un-American values that can justify hate.

4.) Someone is lying and knew that the boundaries are so low that no one is going to question (All the tough talk by some of the guys and they are weak in mind and weak in values. 🤷 The self interest is associated with reputation, money, embarrassment of black kids/Muslims, and future money opportunities. These were not the acts of virgin angels sent from high. No one questioning motives indicates their social group holds very similar dark beliefs just under the sociably acceptable surface.)

5.) The local system hasn't been able to deal with these issues (Not all but a few parts)  and is distorted by social networks (Others have complained about this nepotism group.). Thee is an undo influence of this social network on expectations of some of the positions (Think the underpinnings of Tulsa Massacre

6.) When we look at the economic development of the area we find it is slow and we also find when we look at why people (young, outsiders, etc...) are leaving that this group and their stain on the local culture is foot printed. There is something more than opportunity alone (i.e. like the local college who rejects candidates based on what appears to be the sanctioning of their social group and the background, skin color, religion, etc... of the candidates. That is even after they tell them they are more than qualified. Is that legal? In this local system it hasn't been questioned. Someone might say "why can't he just shut up and go away?". My answer is "Because this is our country we can walk on any street in this country and it won't have anything to do with the hate, racism, cultic culture or bigotry of others". They don't have the moral right to make hiring decisions over tax payer dollars to support their defunct social group. Whether or not the law enforces our Constitution is a different matter.)

We are changing. While it used to be a problem primarily for Muslims, Blacks, Asians, Jews, the poor, etc...(The ones we love to hate!) it is now a problem for everyone to deal with (Its now becoming a universal problem and so it will need universal thinking to solve.). This is why I advocate for early mental health interventions and increased accountability. We simply can't afford to sort of think "Its ok as long as its against ___(fill in the blank)____". I guess in many ways that is self-interest as well. We need more forward thinking leadership and I think people are making the proper connections on how one problem leads to another problem.

Some might think me a liberal. I'm a light right Republican that is more Conservative than the far right extremist because I go down as far as I can to the core of our essential conservative values and not the false imagery that makes many men/women slaves to distorted forms and images. Just wrapping yourself in a flag with all the wrong values doesn't really make you a patriot. That looks more like dishonoring our core values for distorted political goals. Its deeper than that! Its about loyalty to the Constitution and the purpose of democracy in the world. People who believe in their country solve problems and avoid making them.

Will we get over it? Yes....as soon as our national leaders reorient themselves to the bigger picture. They will evenutually but when and how much destructiveness must happen prior is really an open question. I suspect that change is coming soon as new information and adjustments occur in real time. Universalism and Rationalism will make it into their collective value system (I thought about running for politics but I don't really think its of interest to me. Here were my thoughts when I did think about it. 9 Important National Issues. Notice certain values can be maintained even when the political situation changes. If someone is bouncing all over the map in values based on political winds it could mean that they dont really have any substantial ones for anchoring decisions; or they are external and shouldn't be trusted.).

Judge Kavanaugh Targeted Again: Judges, Politicians, Minorities, and Others (Politics as Usual?)

The sad state of affairs is that it has become increasingly dangerous to be in an official position in society where people are unlikely to be happy ( It use to be a problem for only some people but now is becoming a problem for more notable figuresWhy I think its important to track back where they got these ideas, when they came up with the "bright" idea and whether they were communicating with others through social media, in person, etc.... We can't fully understand without thorough investigations.

Whether we agree with specific choices and decisions we don't have the right to start targeting people. Just like I disagree with far left protesting outside judge's houses (Its not freedom of speech its leans toward intimidation. You can protest outside the courts, businesses, in the street. Homes are more sacred and it only takes one radical to cause problems.) I also disagree with far right extremist views that think Americans only look like them (...and the propensity toward coordinated armed violence).

The problem is we can't really get our politicians to zip their lips because they want something and have not learned a healthy respect for their positions, democracy, and the need for strong institutions (When leadership on both sides begins to default we begin to eat ourselves from the inside. Let us watch the trend and encourage our leadership to start working together and change the nature of discourse Conflict Modeling, Cognitive Team, Social Projection, Moral Character, Feedback Loop, Greatest ThreatsOutperforming ). They also don't always know that their escalating words and encampment justify the unjustifiable in the sick and diseased mind.

We see these extremism behaviors grow in our home towns, nation's capital, and against our institutions. As long as the fundamental of values don't change we will continue to experience these behaviors.(Leaders ability to work together in a bi-partisan way to solve national problems. If these trends continue they will be forced to make compromises as trust and popularity ratings will plummet. I agree that if you are not capable of compromise you really shouldn't be in leading positions. There is a different between compromising values and compromising on methods.

Despite the growing trend few want to compromise and some don't want to solve problems (Think differently in one party or the other and you are thrown out. Its not what it was supposed to be. Big money supplanting the voice of reason and the needs of people.).

Encampment creates problems for the rest of us. We need more centralists that are willing to stand on principle and have a backbone on basic values. We need our leaders to be rationalists beyond Republican and Democrat. They have to refocus on loftier goals.

After my family and I were targeted by those bent on supporting their social networks in hate (Whether personal, religious, or racial makes no difference.) I learned the importance of better laws that ensure those displaying aggression and irrational behaviors have mandatory mental health (It helps keep them out of trouble and helps keep others safe. It can also be an alternative to jail of caught early enough.). We need a system that requires such mandatory counseling as a method of pre-empting other such issues such as this. 🤔

Always so negative. So let us think of some positive things. Our politicians are starting to compromise on things like guns and have done so on infrastructure. While some are pulling further left and right there is the start of a sociological middle. There is great pressure on them to bend their values but I believe they will grow by necessity and in turn will pick up momentum. That may lead to better decision making by breaking the grid lock but will also push some further left or right. Time will tell. Nothing is forever sure. At least from a sociological perspective.

Playing a Little Golf and Just a Little Better with Consistency of Swing

Golf isn't an easy sport. A little ball goes into a hole seems simple enough. Except I'm like a big monkey with a stick and while I'm about average (maybe a little below) I need a lot of work to be a better golfer. It just doesn't work out as planned so now I just enjoy the game and make continuous improvement.

Right now I'm focusing on the development of higher consistency in my swing. I once heard that if you swing the same every time you will get a better result. The only thing you have to do is determine more or less pressure. Next time I will pay attention to it!

This time I only lost two balls! Being low I bought another pack. I didn't know Kirkland had used balls. The perfect type for me! 😬

City Council Regular Meeting Thursday June 2, 2022-demolitions.

Not too much exciting going on. Some demotions, changes in roads, etc...You can watch for the excitement. You may not need popcorn for this meeting. Grab a pillow...just rudimentary and normal business stuff. Some are exciting and some not so much! June 2nd, 2022 Escanaba Agenda.

Something more exciting on demolitions. I suspect the building demo can't be more than a few floors. We have very few large buildings. Its just interesting to watch the worlds tallest demolitions. I'm afraid to cut a branch off my dead tree in case it falls on me. I can't even image these buildings. Sorry I was getting bored and tired. 😴

Summary of Terrorism Threat to/in the United States (Don't Be a Stooge and Don't be a "Sell Out"!)

Its important to think about developing a universal value system and culture where everyone is focused on the central tenants of American beliefs and preserving democratic institutions in a way that applies to different races, religious, and peoples universally/fairly/similarly. I agree with the report that there is an attempt by foreign entities to use social media to influence Americans in order to harm each other (Unfortunately, we made this easier with rigid thinking. If you need research on how language influences choices, social "realities", and outcomes I have no problem providing it. Eating ourselves from the inside. Egg or chicken argument.).

Keep in mind that essential core beliefs of the nation are broad and reach across different peoples because it is a system of philosophy that is not anchored in a particular race/religion (Actually the original Greeks may have been Mediterranean-Alpine with weak Nordic influences. Thus mixed race should not be discounted from our democratic society as less worth from a purely racial/religious standpoint. People should be judged by the quality of their character and not superficial features that may actually be in more alignment with early democracy. In other words, the values and the race are not connected in ancient Greece and serve similarly no helpful purpose in modern society.) . Further focusing on on central beliefs will encourage togetherness and the strength that comes form it. While debating on different aspects of policy are great, the intentional undermining of our institutions is a sign of an attempt to delegitimize legitimate authority agreed upon by "We the People" as inherent in the social contract of the Constitution (..likely for nefarious purposes.).

It is acceptable to work within the system to enact change but it is not ok to supplant institutions in ways that have not been mutually agreed upon by the far majority of people through the legislative process (A central aspect of democracy.). Maintaining trust is influenced by standing up for the value of democracy and its institutions. If we destroy them we also destroy ourselves. Why I believe each of the the legs of the three leg stool should act independently for best outcomes (i.e. Executive and Legislative branch should maintain a level of independence form each other and the Judiciary Branch must be able to rule over conflicts to maintain the peace of conflictual parties.)

We can only encourage our politicians to see the long-term value of upholding our central American values and ensuring they use good judgement, rational debate, and work in the best interest of everyone beyond current time and space (Meaning its up to them to not damage the prospects of future generations and fail to lift the lamp to the golden door for the benefit of the next generation. Culturally we codify these concepts in the Statue of Liberty otherwise known a "Liberty Enlightening the World"). We are all in this boat together and we have greater responsibilities to keep our values bright beyond our individual parties or the friends we have attached ourselves to in the political world.

We don't need stooges in leadership and we don't need "sell outs" with power. We must have people who decide issues based on evidence, their personal values, and the greater needs of the nation and its people. We elect them because we believe in them and they must act in ways that maintain their oaths. History will not write kindly of those who sell their national responsibilities for lower affiliations. In other words, if one can't think for themselves then they should not be in a position that impacts everyone else. Wheat from Chaff in leadership. If you see (know) something say something.

Summary of Terrorism Threat to the United States

The summary is below, "The United States remains in a heightened threat environment, as noted in the previous Bulletin, and several recent attacks have highlighted the dynamic and complex nature of the threat environment. In the coming months, we expect the threat environment to become more dynamic as several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets. These targets could include public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents. Threat actors have recently mobilized to violence due to factors such as personal grievances, reactions to current events, and adherence to violent extremist ideologies, including racially or ethnically motivated or anti-government/anti-authority violent extremism. Foreign adversaries—including terrorist organizations and nation state adversaries—also remain intent on exploiting the threat environment to promote or inspire violence, sow discord, or undermine U.S. democratic institutions. We continue to assess that the primary threat of mass casualty violence in the United States stems from lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances. Why Its Important To Challenge Distorted Groups (Sports, Cults and Hate)

Groups are great and they help people create a sense of community. Sometimes those groups take on certain identity characteristics that turn what would normally be good into something that can be bad under the right circumstances (i.e. when someone wants money or is willing to manipulate them.) When such behaviors become embedded into the value system of the group it can be hard to dislodge even when such behaviors are destructive and in hindsight they come to recognize they made a mistake (Most people feel they make mistakes when there are consequences but not while they are engaging in the behaviors themselves. Few have an internal value system that can guide them to adjust on the "fly". Members might talk about values but for most these appear to be surface professions.)

Let us take an example. A group was told intentionally false information (It actually doesn't matter if it is false or true) and they acted on that information without fact checking. That means they are easily manipulated with information and emotions (The essence of manipulation. You can find this in different groups that become increasingly aggressive without actually being in harm's way. People outside those groups are dangerous while those within the group share some core identities.). When I say act they engaged in coordinated group aggression that ranged all over the map from rudeness to high aggressive behaviors that targeted children and could have led to violence (Most did not but it only takes a couple and some seemed like they were trying. Perceived power dynamics should not be the deciding factors in values.)

While they had no legitimate reason to hate the targets they did so because of the deeply held social hierarchy in which they live and the false perceptions of Muslims, Blacks and likely others. They may have become accustomed to judging and acting towards others based on these rigid social structures and false images of self importance. How such groups develop and form their opinions is an interesting social networking affair (In marketing you can track how opinions are shared and formed.).

A problem arises when they target someone who doesn't live by those same social structures and they misjudge the person's past, values, and resolve in such situations (i.e. meaning their distorted network forced them to misjudge and act aggressively as a sign of a cultish vantage point. I have lived with lots of different types of people and mediocre sports players cannot really judge properly or use a lower hierarchical system on a higher framework.). That is the problem with cults and those engaged in extremist type behaviors (Not all are but there are elements of extremism by some members. Keep in mind they told me they were targeting my family because we were Muslim and very liberal with the use of "niggars". Those within the group only need to step back and really think about how others are perceived and how they seem to judge and devalue people outside their group. The more different the people, the more they devalue them.). They can't judge others accurately because they can't judge themselves accurately.

Likewise, the sheer ability to "go after" someone and their family simply because they were told to do so also means they do not have healthy boundaries (either theirs or others). The blind being led by the blind or the mental slavery of distorted forms.  It becomes easy to hate others when its sociably acceptable. How such a groups move from sports supporters to hate supporters is an interesting open question.

Many of these people live by their sports identities and are teaching kids (Their kids and other people's kids) about sports, life, values and sociably acceptable behaviors. It opens some big questions as to what values they are teaching the formative generations. They seemed to be subjective in their beliefs of which people and kids have value and which don't (Different rules for different types of kids and kids within certain social networks.)

Challenging such behaviors is important to develop a better path forward for them, the community and more importantly the targets (These/us or others.). That can be done with empathy but it won't be done with sugar coating. The behaviors were destructive and dangerous and should not be allowed to happen again without serious consequences. I would think a level of accountability of those who caused the problem (i.e. mandatory mental health) and an adjustment in the distorted sports culture is needed to ensure they aren't socializing the next batch of kids to un-American values.

Starting to Connect the Theory Dots (Rewrite Coming)

Theory isn't always easy and requires someone with a mind capable of taking abstracts and putting them into concrete pieces that explain phenomenon through key measurable factors. For many, that is not something easy to do. Doctoral students often focus on developing a single new piece of knowledge within a theory and can spend a lifetime at it. Those who want to develop whole new theories would be taking an awfully big bite and would likely get lost.

I have been working on an economic cluster theory that has been developing organically since 2012 (Actually a little earlier.) I work on it, ignore it, watch the news, see how that applies, and then adjust. It becomes a Hodge Podge mess but eventually there are patterns that form and then a rewrite becomes possible. That will make it more clear once a rewrite has been done (There are way too many things to justify but its sound and supported by other research and theory. Kind of a macro innovation theory.).

While this theory started organically it wasn't until later I noticed it paralleled a few more similar theories out there (I'm not sure which was first. I doubt I was but there wasn't a lot of literature out there prior and more showed up over the last decade. So I can only say bits and pieces are similar and some are different.). Because it was similar in some ways, yet having its own characteristics (The benefit of having a different lines of development) it creates something new that might reach a little further in some areas than others (I'm not an indoctrinated person but qualified enough to make scientific connections.).

Sometimes it is the small that is significant in theory development and that can lead to bigger things. Indoctrination up to a point of understanding something and having a method is helpful but not so much as to limit thinking outside those mental frameworks. When that happens we just dig deeper with little brought thought or wider connections (Some are more hardwired to see things others can't.)

Whether your a college student, business executive, Ph.D. student or seasoned scientist we follow similar methods of discovery. There will be data diggers that go deeper and there others that go broader. The latter and its applicability is just as important, if not more important, as the former but we don't often encourage it in higher edu.

Innovation and development come from practical application beyond the journals and elbow patches. My goal is to draft and draft fast and then go back over it many times finding ways to improve  and connect it.

UK to send first long-range missiles to Ukraine- Quantity Won't Change War But Slow Advance (Air Defense Needed)

UK is sending some advanced missiles to Ukraine. While it isn't going to tip the scales to Ukraine it might create more match in artillery. If you aren't sure where you can put your supplies, troops mass or whether or not your artillery will get hit then you will have an exponential effect that is likely to be disruptive. In other words, Russians will need to move things around and double guess themselves.

The high mobility of these systems is helpful as they can move across regions fairly quickly. The goal should be to force Russian troops to commit in close quarter combat and require them to leave troop reserves for defense thereby splitting power (Why looking for soft spots and hitting them hard is important.).

While we may not be sending planes we should consider better air defense to knock out low level plane attacks.
