Gunman With a List, Mental Health and a "Tool": As a society we aren't learning and adapting fast enough.

It doesn't get more creepy than this (Ok it actually does and I have seen Steven King Creepy 😬) Judges, politicians, and just about anyone else can become a target. Wisconsin Department of Justice. Notice that these are all people who are not far far right and have become hit targets (Like they are an obstacle of some type.). While this person isn't someone who appears to be working with anyone (The police indicate they may be looking to see who else they are in connection with. I suspect someone could send out on social media a creepy list to other extremists in their network.) that probably has a mental health disorder, the constant negative political/national rhetoric of hating/devaluing anyone who doesn't believe in their movement is dangerous!

As a person who has been targeted by hate and in many ways still ostracized by the very same group of supporters who cheered at the immaturity we must keep in the back of our mind when or if a "long wolf" can be sparked from such rhetoric. Most of these people are not like that (Most are good people when in a homogeneous setting but are all too willing to follow and act on intentionally planted rumors against "others" even when most of them would say he and his family are very nice. We are forced to follow our social group and can't make decisions of higher value for ourselves.) and would never do that (Group intimidation/bullying/humiliation isn't the same as picking up a gun but it could influence others to project their hate at a perceived target. i.e. following home, picking fights, pulling over kids, etc... ) but it only takes one person with a mental health issue or tormented by deep depression to change all the factors.

So we will likely continue to deal with these issues over and over until the political capital is strong enough to make lasting change; that will be difficult under our current political structure of rigid right and left duality. I picked my strategy a long time ago. I smile, make myself public, do good things for my community, engage positively even with those who hate me/kids, challenged bigots/racists, go where I want and walk where I want. Each day the sun shines for me because while I'm polite most would never think of me as a pacifist or a coward (You don't know a box of chocolates until you open it up. Its just a Forest Gump saying). When the good Lord picks his time (I say that more spiritually than religiously.) I have already made my peace many times over and put in place a pretty good life insurance policy (Now that I think of it there might have been an "other" box but I think that was for something else. 😂) As an American it is my duty to defy the odds (I know I know I have a Muslim sounding name. It get soo confusing when we can't categorize someone and have to look at them directly to make an accurate judgement without relying on our own preconceived notions. Kind of what my dissertation was about. Walking a mile to understand.)

Whether you are a retired judge, Democrat Governor Whitmer, Republican Mitch McConnell, WI Gov, Republican VP Pence, the  local "other" (Muslim, Jew, Catholic, Mexican, White, Black, etc....) we are all in the same boat together against extremism and mental health (The rational people in this country will need to step up against irrational behaviors, supporters and their root causes.). I know I know I have a dumb idea and a Muslim sounding name but how about we try Counseling and Coding? (Also working a review for better understanding but haven't finished it yet. Hate Review and Analysis.) Its not really as dumb as it sounds unless one is judging by a quick heuristic conclusion (The same sort of thinking that causes similar problems).

We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” Albert Einstein

Larger Pentagon Budget Could Be Used to Spur Industry Development and Economic Growth Under the Right System

The pentagon relies on emerging technologies and the effective use of such new technologies. While government direction and initial spending can be helpful it is industry that creates the scientific background that leads to understanding and radical development. With the right rapid innovation system in place we can potentially use government money (It could be done organically with the right policies.) to create butterfly effects in clustered industries that are sharing research and developing new technologies in things like wearable tech, robotics, metals, space, propulsion, etc...

Read the article The push to supersize Pentagon spending ratchets up

The amount needed is $813 billion military spending proposal but one must ask whether we can turn this into something more? Can we create exponential value in other industries that can return that money back to create a level of discounted/free development (Perpetual Development). If you can recoup 10%, 50%, 100%, or 300% that is good. (I think with the right system you could get back 400% over 10 years. One would have to run innovation development returns on R&D and then use a multiplier because they were working in tandem with other industries to develop advanced equipment. Innovation is a process of sharing knowledge, resources, and skills.) Remember that innovation creates butterfly effects that can enhance multiple industries and increase economic development. For example, a new metal might impact other outdoor equipment, or a new robotic system could be used for ship cleaning, warfare, fish feeders, etc....

Co-development with industries ready to compete globally can help return manufacturing back to the U.S. and spark larger innovations within the country across multiple sectors (In case your confused...that is a good thing.). Certain aspects of the development within a clustered city would be able to be used for industry fostering and development while some may be held within the military (i.e. allowing emerging tech be part of the military to increased capacity above our enemies while allow non-military aspects used to innovate advanced manufacturing within the country.)

Rapid innovation and development would require stakeholders interesting in codeveloping in tandem with other companies, scientists that know how to apply the information, location (ripe for investment with shipping infrastructure), opportunities for smaller investors, local college to build competencies, and government/state support (MultiCluster, GLShipping, MNC, Digital Infrastructure, R&D, SME, Downtown, and much more.). In essence, your creating an innovation system that when functional and developed could be used in other areas (I know...I have have a Muslim sounding name so maybe you should ask a Bob or Joe to see if these ideas might work. Perhaps someone from Harvard or Yale? I mean, whatever it takes to get people to think outside the box....its how we get ahead. Our nation and its development is important and we need new ideas beyond the same inner group to ensure we excel forward as a people . 🤷 🤔)

I'm thinking why not take that money and maximize it across multiple industries in prototype developments that allow the Pentagon to pick the cream of the crop for emerging technologies such as molecular propulsion (with little/no carbo), robotics, AI, space development, and much much more. Its just an idea but even if it was half true it would likely pay dividends. We just need to find a place to do ripe for a trial development?

Where could we find a place near other space development, rural, on the water, needing new investment, with basic shipping infrastructure, interested state stakeholders, near other fairly intact closed military bases with launch sites, and a positive lifestyle for creative class development, etc...? Perhaps a place that can be reimagined from the ground up in a way that benefits local lifestyles and enhances limited local resources and opportunities (tourism to prototypes). Perhaps we have to squint our eyes. I wonder where? thinking thinking thinking. Probably a dumb idea but sometimes dumb ideas have merit so maybe we should think of a place. Thinking thinking Oh Yaa politics! ....we might need to get beyond that to launch ourselves past our competitors. 🤷💨

Chris Jacobs announces he's not running in NY-23: He Should Have Stayed and Fought For Conservatism

There are two different Republican parties within one party and I think they may be starting to split; at least it seems that way (I'm thinking more sociologically. You can sense the different power structures struggling to find balance with each other but as one turns one way the other is left desperately trying to hold the two together.). Now I can't make any judgement on Chris Jacobs or his character because I never met him but I respect what he did here by speaking his mind.  However, if he is being rejected because he doesn't support military grade weapons circulating in the public that doesn't seem to align to traditional values. Something seems to be in misalignment. It just seems out of balance and could indicate something else may be festering.

Under certain circumstances we might see an implosion of the Republican party and soon after perhaps the Democrat Party (Highly dependent and speculative on the Dem but certainly not what was expected. It would be hard to run a country with one major party without it splintering). Nothing wrong with guns and shooting clubs. Military weapons are not in the same class as hunting rifles and self defense guns. They are designed for different purpose (I wonder if the same people discussing civil war are the one's pushing for no compromises?)

While I have a Muslim sounding name (which some have decided they seek to rage because of that alone) that doesn't mean I don't adhere to the "Old Guard" Republican values that include primary conservatism (i.e. I'm a Catholic, Muslim, Jew and believe religious groups should not be supporting military weapons in the public. Let us think about what these spiritual leaders might say about these types of guns. What would Jesus say? How about philosophers? I'm more spiritual than religious but I don't think as a central conservative value it fits well together between the teachings of past and the "perceived" need for these weapons among the populace. Religion and philosophy are the wisdom of the ages and by some the aphrodisiac of the masses so it still has power.). In my understanding such philosophers (religious, secular, gifted) were promoters of peace, critical thinking, sanctity of life, and education (Sorry its just my understanding. I read a lot but maybe I'm wrong. Only a couple philosophers came to mind when thinking about this issue and those were related to military defense.).

We should be working toward a world where such guns are not necessary (At least from a religious standpoint. Yes I know guns are likely going to be here for a long time and when used to defend a nation and people they are necessary.  Flipping burgers is probably in my future because I'm not seeing why these guns are necessary in everyday use and that can attract all type of disdain and backlash. I'm missing a major logical connection as to why. Someone would have to fill that logical gap and I'm drawing a blank....except in one chilling circumstance) There are some people who may be able to have these guns with the proper training, purpose, and gun locks but that isn't the average person on the street.

....and I think we are moving into a new sort of era where we become our own worst enemies (eating ourselves from the inside. Republicans and Democrats and their irrationalism.). We need more RINO's DINO's and rational centralists to get positive things done.  I respect Chris for his values and I respect the parents who want to protect their children and the Conservatives that believe in their essential principles (...beyond the politics. I still consider myself a light right Republican of the "Old Guard". I would hate to see a world where Freedom of Speech is supplanted at the end of a barrel).

This probably why I won't run for politics because of its destructive and often self serving nature of interested parties. I have already given up many aspects of my life for what I believe and I think I have done some good (Jury still out.). The nation and its needs are often secondary to many of our politicians and their supporters. I feel like some are harming our long-term national health with staunchness and ideologically immaturity and silliness (That is not an argument for or against any political party). Biggest Threats and National Vision

Let us see if the shooting trend will continue and if it does if there is a point where "old guard" Republicans rise to reclaim the central tenants of their party. :We seem to have lost our sense of direction and there is likely to be some type of reorientation; i.e. further right or more central. We need new leadership that are willing to work together to solve important national problems. Time will tell what happens. Let us hope both sides can start working on bi-partisan solutions. I don't see liking and not liking guns as either a Republican or Democrat issue....its becoming a different kind of issue. Let us wait to see what emerges. Doors open and close.

May 2022 Job Reports Show Growth in Labor Market: The right kind of market?

A couple of key points in June 3rd, 2022 Employment Numbers that are of interest. As we bring back manufacturing and other sources we want to see jobs in manufacturing rise and we want to see exports rise. Fairly simple but there are lots of other things that lead to an improved investment market, manufacturing market, and finally exportation market that leads to substantial growth. Many sort of things come together in developing national capacity in the right kind of industries.

While we sort of have people going back to jobs we should think about are we using our labor the best we can to maximize its value and increase the total supply chain value across the globe? Thinking on a macro level can improve on an entire system. Now that labor is increasingly in short supply how might technology start to influence productivity and where should those resources be placed to maximize economic value? (Of course I'm still watching some projections and thinking of the 22/23 and 23/24

Below is quoted:

-In May, transportation and warehousing added 47,000 jobs. Employment rose in warehousing and storage (+18,000), truck transportation (+13,000), and air transportation (+6,000). Employment in transportation and warehousing is 709,000 above its February 2020 level.

-Manufacturing employment continued to trend up in May (+18,000). Job gains
occurred in fabricated metal products (+7,000), wood products (+4,000), and electronic instruments (+3,000). Employment in manufacturing overall is slightly below (-17,000 or -0.1 percent) its February 2020 level.

-Wholesale trade added 14,000 jobs in May, including gains in durable goods (+10,000) and electronic markets and agents and brokers (+6,000). Employment in wholesale trade is down by 41,000, or 0.7 percent, compared with February 2020. Mining employment increased by 6,000 in May and is 80,000 higher than a recent low in February 2021.

-Average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by 10 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $31.95 in May. Over the past 12 months, average hourly earnings have increased by 5.2 percent. In May, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 15 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $27.33. (See tables B-3 and B-8.)

Why Politics Can Make Our Break Our Nation's Future

Politics is great! Its an excellent opportunity to for people to "battle it out" and show all their bravado for the self interest of onlookers (We kind of look for that anger and conflict when choosing leaders. Yell louder and people clap more!). The problem is that when we seem to be missing the big picture all of that fighting starts looking less than helpful. We stop arguing about ways to solve problems and start arguing over who is better than who, who's opinions are better, or who's party can influence more people.

As we digress into pitched small time battles we often find ourselves becoming bested by other nations. There is one thing the Chinese are right about and that is democracy takes a level of consensus. Where debate is helpful, the chronic bickering and pitched battles will likely be our undoing. We have to maintain focus on national interests.

How do we change that?

We need leaders who are not ideologically jaded and focused only on their party, their careers, and helping their friends. They must be focused on the bigger picture or they cease to be leaders of much value. Sure they may fight and damage each other but not fight for everyone's (the nation's) interest. Leadership is about moving people to achieve lofty goals that help all of us.

We as a people have become accustomed to looking at our leaders as people who have all the answers. As a social class they may have become accustomed to the belief they are inherently more qualified to lead than others. Thus opinions aren't really challenged within their own parties but are more discussions of party navigation. Then all the arguments seem to lose their rationality and get silly (We accept that silliness. Think about it. If you had a business would you really want some of these people running it? Putting forward unsubstantiated claims and chronic arguing.).

Let us step outside of that dynamic back to a time where we might have had 100 people in a democratic village. Perhaps if someone was born with more oxen or sheep then others they may have more chances of survival (food, marriage, health, etc...) but when difficult times hit certainly people would not go to someone who didn't have the skills just because they had more oxen or sheep.

For example, if a community needed more food they would go to the best farmer and if they needed to fight against a warring tribe they would go to those with experience fighting. If they hoped to be successful they pushed their best and brightest to higher positions and they would always be on the look out for new skills and people to enhance the chances of their village (i.e. value directed diversity around shared goals).

We are removed from that now and perhaps will be even more removed. While those very same processes work in the background we are no longer connected so closely to our choices or know the people who are professing to be our leaders. Thus sometimes the necessity of leading through knowledge and skill takes a back seat through leading by class and social connections.

Democracy isn't built on that.....we should think about leadership and drawing in the diverse talent we need to compete. There will be many within the "connected class" that would disagree but that is more likely because they want the steak, potatoes, and the cake; some are left with crumbs. I think there is a better way and that way is through fostering evidence based management, compromise (bi partisanship) and refocusing our national efforts to build a great nation (I know! I know! Its a dumb idea. 🤷)

Ford Announced $2billion in Michigan Investments: More can be done with business environments.

Ford recently announced something like $2billion in investments within the state. Another announcement in the past found that the company was putting its electric vehicle investments in another state. That wasn't perhaps the worst move but didn't hedge the existing infrastructure and knowledge competencies that can be found in Michigan.

Ford’s $2 billion investment will bring 3,200 jobs to Michigan

The state has some responsibility in encouraging new investments such as this by using resources in ways that lead to higher levels of economic, social, and environmental growth. they are doing that through what is called the Strategic Outreach and Attraction Reserve (SOAR)

There is more to it then just incentivizing businesses. It is also about finding places where businesses can collaborate to build something new. Those ideas don't seem to have traction even thought they may have greater potential.

For example, Delta County Michigan is an underdeveloped area that would be great for clustering outdoor tourism, small/medium manufacturing, mining, prototype development, skilled trades, and military/navy (I'm not going into how that works because I have already sort of talked about it and it takes a while to explain.).

Anyway.....creating the right investment environments and selling those environments to businesses and international investors can go a long way.

The Changing Nature of the American Military: The Digital Era Comes to Surface

Getting ahead of the curve is important. I agree with General Milley in this aspect US military may need innovation overhaul to fight future wars, Milley says. We are entering a new world from post-Industrial society to the Digital Era where the rules of the road are different than what we experienced in the past (Evolutional EconCyber War, China Compete and Competitive Position). As NATO and the U.S. adapt to new changes such as global net capacities and high functioning robotics and wearable tech we will also be adapting our functioning units .

That change will require greater business-military-local stakeholder collaborations (Business Execs and InterOrg Collaborative) because we have to think out of the box (Bounded Stakeholder Theory). That won't happen unless we allow the best and brightest versus the most connected come forward to take important roles in society (Human Capital, HR Practices, Innovation and ScienceEagle Eye).

That can be hard when we are limited by past paradigms (Charting Course). We become engrained in a way of thinking that is socialized within us through our childhood experiences, education, and socialization process. It is hard to step outside those mental frameworks and new eras will require a higher level of creative functioning often not rewarded in school, society or in our professional lives.

Likewise, I think that rapid innovation systems can make a difference in the quick paced development of key military and civilian industries (Innovate State and Digital GDP). Unfortunately, we are often stuck in our linear ways of thinking (and elite nepotism) so we miss out on new things because we can't see the differences and thus are not able to formulate new perceptions  (Reverse Military Learning , Virtual Communication and data triangulation) and in turn new evidence based solutions even though we know solutions to be just beyond the read of the tips of our finger. Student and teacher are co-learners in a collaborative and creative environment.

Developing the Fitness Program: Food, Recovery, Exercise, and Fun

Getting into great shape isn't easy and isn't impossible. It takes a little commitment if you want to move from average into excellence. For the last 4 months I have been trying to improve my fitness performance and develop a solid level of body growth and development. We aren't talking about muscles alone but a consistent level of overall growth.

In general, it is possible to go slower and make everyday changes that add up over time. However, significant change in shorter periods (i.e. body boot camps) requires a level of commitment of finding the right high performance level in relation to other health factors to balance food, exercise, recovering and fun/interest.

Food: Lower simple carbs (complex ok), clean protein, calories, and vegetables.

Exercise: Sufficient workout levels to increase calorie burn, improve cardiovascular performance, improve strength, coordination and flexibility.

Recovery: Often neglected it has an impact on overall performance and the amount of workout that can be completed. Faster change can only occur with sufficient recovery.

Fun/Interest: Working out can be fun and it can be boring. Change routines and include fun sports that improve on various fitness levels (i.e. volleyball or swimming.)

Here is a study you may want to read on food and choices. Integrated Role of Nutrition and Physical Activity for Lifelong Health

Sometimes having a little help if you are new to fitness can go a long way. I have fitness trainer, yoga and self defense certifications and do training as a side gig. Training is done virtually and catered to your specific goals and needs. Affordable. Limited space and availability. Email Fitness Training

Tulsa shooter bought AR-15 style rifle on day of shooting: Copycats and Ease

I'm not amazed that the shooter looked for specific people like they have done in a few other cases recently (If you ever been on the receiving end of mental health rage and irrational hate you will understand why putting guns in some people's hands isn't the right approach.). Just like the kid that walked into the school, the other kid that went after Black people, and now someone going after their doctor we need a better intervention approach (Waiting until its popular to act isn't another good solution either...thus the nature of politics, perception, and opinion formation.).

Discussions on not allowing anyone to buy these military grade guns without some type of training, gun locks, or actual purpose for owning this type of gun seems to confuse our national leadership (I'm starting to get confused myself. 🤷). The people who are attracted to these types of guns should probably not have them anyway. There have been some bi-partisan negotiation between Republicans and Democrats on this issue. Let us see if they can work together to save some lives (I actually think some guns are ok for the right purpose and use. i.e. self defense, sport, hunting, etc... I'm not against guns but I'm against the wrong gun for everyday use in the wrong hands. The problem is that most of our politicians have the right answer before understanding the essential problem and question. Its deeper than access to guns. Like it has been said its only a tool but the wrong tool in the wrong hands is dangerous. Easy access is unlikely to help the situation.).

The trend continues....but most people have already made up their minds on what they believe and are willing to do to solve the problem (Its a bi-partisan problem).

Escanaba Polo Mallet Co Donates 30% of Profits: It Feels Good to Donate!

One of the joys of entrepreneurship is the ability to impact our environment in positive ways. There are lots of negative things going on and people often focus on money to buy more things they probably don't need. While more things can be great, it is also beneficial to think about the real things of life.

This little article discusses some of the things going on at a start up I run. It moves along at whatever pace it should and provides benefits as to how small business in the U.S. can be started, run, the troubles they face, and the policies that are stopping U.S. entrepreneurship.

Of course if you want to donate/pledge a few hundred thousand dollars a year we could probably get an orphanage funded quick time!!!! (Ok I tried. 😇). Likely some legal stuff to get through but I suspect that wouldn't be a big problem. There are some non-profits that already do this so you might be able to go through one of them. Personally I would like more control in terms of education, activities and facilities but most of the time its easier to give to an existing non-profit.

Escanaba Polo Mallet Co. Donates 30% Jan to May Profits

Escanaba Polo Mallet Company is a good works business that seeks to move beyond making businesses to sharing insight into small business development in the U.S. for policy consumption. In addition, as a good works company we donate much of our profits away to worthwhile causes. Approximately 30+% of profits have been donated to the causes below.

Someday we would hope to donate up to 50% of which could be used to fund an entire orphanage of 30-40 students. Time will tell and we will focus on making great custom mallets with our unique handmade process. Check back, share, and keep up reading what we are doing.
