Creative Cloud(TM) Becomes Abode's Signature Product

Abode announced at its Abode Max Creativity Conference 05/06/2013 that they are expanding their offerings of the Adobe(R) and Creative Cloud(TM).  The goal is to help the creative class work together to come up with more solutions. Through the use of shared files it is believed that improvements in business, education and other industries will be forthcoming. At present the software works on Windows, Mac OS, IOS and Android giving it wide applicability.

According to BusinessWire a half million paid memberships and two million free users have already signed up for the service since 2012 (Business Wire, 2013). They have developed a community of users that share information, create together, and  publish.  The whole system is designed to enhance their abilities and encourage more productivity. There are a number of important features that are offered for the $39.99-$50 per monthly subscription price.

Products that are included within the service include anything that has a “CC” designation. Products such as Photoshop CC, InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, Dreamweaver CC, Premiere Pro CC, and more part of the features that come with 100GB of storage and service. According to TNW Magazine the Photoshop CC has enhanced capabilities of photo editing and brush up (2013). It is much more versatile and easy to use than previous products.

Abode Suite will be going away and the company will instead focus exclusively on the Cloud. As a strategic approach it seems that the company is embracing the new technology and finds that the Cloud not only offers higher levels of revenue generation but also the possibility of greater market applicability. The Cloud is more flexible in integrating new technology and applications into its system thereby making it a paradigm shift for the company.

In most companies that launch new products or services to the public they let people try their work for some time (a year or two) at either a discounted rate or for free. The goal is to assess the product, obtain customer feedback, and fix any glitches. Abode offered a number of free subscriptions but these will be going away now that their product appears to be ready for mass consumption.

Since the Cloud can be used on smart phones, ipads, and other electronic devices it has a natural appeal to educational institutions. Its uses can be included in a number of different venues and teaching modalities but has the most appeal to creative art programs where engineering, video production, designing and other activities take place. The Education Enterprising Agreement allows students and teachers to obtain the service for as low as $19.99 per month with a yearly subscription.
