Sacramento mass shooting timeline: Need for Legislative Balance?

We need to get a handle on gun violence in this country. It looks like on the surface someone go upset, perhaps a little drunk and pulled out a gun and went on a rampage . Very sad state of affairs. I support gun rights but I also support responsibility over those guns (People who respect guns are not the first people who allow their egos to pull them out. Why I don't trust extremists with guns!). People who go hunting are not in the same category as people hiding these things in their cars and under pants. So let us dump off the prior issue as hunting is an excellent sport (I know I have friends who disagree and I'm sure I'm going to hear it!) and focus on the later where all the issues seem to lay.

I wonder if statistically its people who have registered guns or people who don't have registered guns that cause the majority of the problem? Researchers can often start collecting all of this information and putting it into context to create legislative policy that balances the right to own guns and the responsible use of guns. You would have to sort of look into the numbers to know how they are being drawn and then cross compare with other government and business data to find a solution. It is possible to find a balance but often that is getting party members on both sides to find solutions based in data (assuming its useful and valid data.).

Pray for the victims.
